Продолжаем публиковать на блоге информацию о других социально ангажированных художественных проектах. На это раз представляем британскую художественную группу ActiveArt, которая осуществила два проекта с женщинами Кыргызстана по приглашению местного офиса UNWomen.
ActiveArt was co-founded by long-term collaborators Tarot Couzyn and Orla O’Flanagan. The mission of ActiveArt is to create innovative and participatory community afor equality, social justice and human rights.
Active Art worked with 17 activist groups from accross Kyrgyzstan,developing textile and video work. A selection is presented here
Mobilising Migrants in Kyrgyzstan: moving exhibition and cinema. This mini-bus project is part of a campaign of social action to enable freedom of movement for domestic Kyrgyz migrants. The bus’ external textile art covering, and internal cinema and film, were conceived and created by a group of internal migrant women during a series of ActiveArt workshops. The work has been used to raise awarenss in the media, amoung politicians, students, potential migrants and the general public. This project was developed in partnership with the Social Research Center (AUCA) and Red Crescent.
